Individuals who would like to consider telephone coaching should email me at
lamarfreed@lamarfreed.net or call me at 215 896 0641.

Telephone coaching is ideal for those who do not have easy access to a psychologist.  As one person put it: "By the time I get to the office, I'm too tired to benefit from a session."  It is an effective way to get professional advice and support for the problems MS inflicts.  It is not ideal for serious psychiatric illness such as major depression, bi-polar disorder, or suicidality.  Concerns of this sort are best addressed in person.  Problems that can be addressed by telephone using psycho-educational methods include finding ways to adjust to the changes MS brings, questions about how to manage jobs, relationships, or one's symptoms and concerns about methods one can use to cope with a chronic illness.

Insurance coverage does not extend to telephone educational services.  I charge by the quarter hour.  Depending on your goals, sessions can be as long as 60 minutes, or as short as 15 minutes  Sessions can be paid by check or money order or they can be paid via PayPal.  I have a sliding scale for those for whom my fees present a hardship.  Please call me at 215 782 3930 or email at lamarfreed@lamarfreed.net  if you have questions.  We can set up a time where you can ask questions about services or fees.  There is no charge for this initial call.

Confidentiality is maintainted to the greatest extent possible.  Because this is an educational service, there are, at present, no governing laws.  However in providing telephone services I follow the guidelines established by the American Psychological Association and the professional licensing code established by the State of Pennsylvania for Psychologists.
